ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What is the procedure to accept credit cards and checks online?
After we receive your application information, we will personally contact you to discuss your business needs and propose a variety of services that can help advance your business in the direction you want it to grow. When we agree on a schedule of services and fees, we will then send the appropriate paperwork to you via Next Day service. After that, you complete and approve the paperwork, then send it back in the preaddressed, prepaid Next Day Letter envelope. You will receive a call/e-mail a few days later from us stating that your account has been approved or declined. Once all the connections have been coordinated, you will receive a second call/e-mail that your account is ready to start processing transactions!

Why is my Credit an Issue?
Your credit history is looked at because of the way credit cards work. When you buy something on your credit card, whether it's goods or services, you are protected by the cardholder agreement you have with the issuing Bank. This means you have 180 days in which to dispute any charges made on your card. Since as a merchant your ability to pay your merchant bank in this situation is critical to them, they analyze your credit history. Remember not everybody is honest so looking at your credit report tells the bank whether you are a good risk. If your credit is a little below average or better and your ticket size is small and your monthly sales are less then $10,000 monthly, then you should be approved.

How long does it take to approve a merchant account?
Most merchant accounts are approved within 48 hours from receipt of a completed application. You can be processing transactions in less than 3 business days.

How soon will I receive my revenue?
As soon as 48 hours after a sale is complete. If you choose to accept checks also, your revenue will be transferred to your account within 6 business days.

Which cards can I accept?
We can handle the paperwork for all major credit cards. You tell us which ones you want to accept and we take care of the rest. (Each credit card company will approve or decline your account independently).

How can you help me prevent fraud?
We are authorized resellers of two of the finest fraud protection services available today. More than Address Verification Software (AVS), more than a negative database -- true controls.

How do I know I can trust you?
Trust is a big issue, especially in banking. The people selling Merchant Accounts mostly are sales people. This means you should do a little homework before you sign anything. You can do a Whois search to find out who owns and manages the Web site. It will also give you information like where their offices are. You can check with the BBB online or call their offices. Check the www.ftc.gov website to see if the Federal Trade Commission has any info. But the best way of all is to get several references and check them out.

Can I accept personal or business checks online?
Yes, this service is available. Contact us and we will discuss several options that will fit your company's specific needs.

Can I accept checks and not accept credit cards?
Yes. The only requirement to accept checks is to have established a business checking account.

What is ACH/EFT?
This is electronic drafting of an individual or businesses checking account by a merchant. The advantage to merchants is that in a B2B situation the transaction cannot be canceled after a 24 hour period. When taking transactions from personal checking accounts the exposure to chargeback is 60 days. When you compare that to the 180 days on credit card transactions it's obvious that ACH/EFT or Electronic Checks have an advantage. Also there are many individuals who do not have credit cards or don't feel comfortable using them. The fees for this form of payment are also lower then credit cards. Definitely a good alternate payment method for those merchants trying to please their customers.

Can I use your bank and not your Internet Gateway Provider?
Yes. But your bank needs to be network compatible.

What if I just want a Merchant Number?
Yes we can do that and issue special MID and TID numbers but this process requires more time. When merchants ask this question its because they are already a customer with Verisign or similar company. In this situation we cannot help you with our state of the art fraud protection because that's done at the payment gateway. Setup time for this type of account is normally 72 hours.

Which Shopping Carts Can I Use?
There are several to choose from and virtually any will work. To see if yours is compatible click here.

Are there restricted industries?
We accept all legal businesses, except airlines. Some industries may have additional regulations and/or requirements, but any legal Domestic Company can have an account.

What is a Domestic Company?
A Domestic Company is a company that has an office, a business checking account and a server that transacts the company's business in the USA.
